shrinkable PALLETISING films granoten®
During palletizing, the film is first softened by short-term heat and follows the shape of the packaged item. On subsequent cooling, the film solidifies and forms a fixing wrap. GRANOTEN® is a protected trade name for heat shrinkable blown LDPE films produced in different grades which differ in mechanical and physical properties.
self-shrinking FILMS STRETCH HOOD flexoten®
Palletizing takes advantage of the elastic behavior of films and their shape memory – the tendency to return to their original state after a previous forced stretch, thus fixing the goods on the pallet. FLEXOTEN® is the protected trade name for self-shrinking coextruded blown PE films (stretch hoods). Self-shrinking films have high strength and ductility, good impact strength. The films have high clarity and gloss. Their use brings considerable energy savings.
As both types of films are exposed to weathering in their applications, it is very important to extend their lifetime by stabilising them against UV radiation. Discuss the optimum film type for the specific purpose (required packaging lifetime, packing material, packer type) with your dealer and test the selected type on a specific packer. The heat resistance of the material is -50 °C to +85 °C, the material shows high resistance to most chemicals at normal and elevated temperatures, minimal wetting and good electrical insulation properties. The foils are weldable and cannot be glued. The films can be printed on both sides with up to 3 colours.
