On 15 October 2026, the PACKAGING OF THE YEAR SUMMIT 2026 took place in Prague; this was a professional conference focusing on the current challenges and future of the packaging industry.
The programme also included a Round Table of Market Leaders, a closed-door meeting of 24 invited representatives from the packaging industry, the retail sector and other experts. Among the participants was the director of GRANITOL a.s., Ing. Michal Raška, Ph.D.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss current challenges, legislative changes and the future direction of the packaging market.
Granitol was also represented at the summit by its Chief Technologist, Daniel Herold, who attended the specialist presentations as a participant. One of the key topics was the European PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation), which introduces new requirements for packaging, its recyclability and the use of recycled materials.
Taking part in such professional events enables us to keep abreast of the latest developments in the sector and to prepare for the changes that will also affect the production of flexible plastic packaging in the coming years.
