The environmental policy of GRANITOL reflects the interest of the top management to integrate the principles of environmental protection into the overall management system of the company. Its aim is to create a general awareness of the impact of all the company’s activities on the environment, not only in the region, and the need to continuously reduce the possible effects of production technology and products on the state of the environment.
The following points summarise the environmental impact of GRANITOL:
- The raw material used in the production process is polyethylene (PE) and products made from these raw materials are recyclable.
- All products are health-safe, do not emit any toxic substances and meet the conditions for heavy metal content.
- For the printing of the films, flexographic inks diluted with alcohol are used (health safety is confirmed by the State Institute of Health).
- In order to limit the leakage of organic solvents (alcohol) into the air and to comply with emission limits during the printing of films, GRANITOL operates two finishing plants.
- Waste generated during production activities is transferred to organisations authorised to handle and dispose of it.
- GRANITOL is involved in the EKO-KOM bundling system.
- The company’s facility is not included in any of the groups on prevention of major accidents caused by selected hazardous chemicals and chemical mixtures.
- GRANITOL does not fall under the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Act and the Integrated Pollution Prevention Register (IPPC), which is the implementation of EU Council Directive 96/61/EC.
